Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience with their ds or dd having a late and extreme reaction to their BCG?
My ds had his jab when he was 8 weeks old, and at 6 months it blistered and swelled up, and has been weeping and bleeding ever since (he's nearly 7 months now). It is going to leave a very nasty/bigger than average scar.
I finally saw a paediatrician last week and she said it wasn't so normal to have a reaction quite this long after the jab and my poor ds is now being referred to the hospital.
She also said that the way he has reacted could be to do with the technique that was used to give the jab. This has made me angry to say the least. However, I will keep calm until after the hospital visit in a few weeks..
Does anyone else have any similar experiences? Please share them with me, I feel so terrible for my poor ds.
