Vaginal swab results? Pus cells?

Anyone hint to my report? Does pus cells mean infection?

  • MICROSCOPY: Pus cells +
  • Clue cells not seen
  • CULTURE: Yeasts not isolated
  • ++ Haemolytic Streptococcus (Group B)
  • 2.
  • 3.
  • Culture for N.gonorrhoeae only performed on cervical swabs.
  • Microscopic findings do NOT suggest bacterial vaginosis.
  • Significance of Group B Strep uncertain, may be part of
  • normal vaginal flora but may sometimes cause infection

It means you have dead white blood cells present, which could indicate infection, possibly by the strep strain they mention. They say the strep could either be normal or possibly a source of infection, yet at the same time claim there is no bacterial vaginosis. It may mean the amount of strep seen is insufficient to suggest infection. You need to talk to your doc about this.
