Hi everyone, I would love some advise or reassurance after my stressful evening.
My daughter is 4 months old and has been a very happy and very calm baby in her first months and only cry’s when hungry and is happy to be left with friends and family and to be in the arms of others.
Tonight, I took her to my friends house for a Christmas get together and for her to meet 2/4 of the group for the first time. When we arrived, she was happy and laughing with everyone and getting all the cuddles, when suddenly she started crying and it was the same cry as when she had her injections. I couldn’t console her with walking round, feeding, changing and taking her away from the group into a quiet room didn’t work.
She cried for nearly 2 hours till I had to leave and get her home. As soon as I put her in the car, she fell asleep. When I got her home, she had a bottle, started laughing with me and then slept l.
She had no temperature and has been fine all day.
I guess my question is, has anyone experienced anything similar and is it possible she got so over stimulated that she couldn’t calm down…all I know is that was my first window into that happening with babies and I applaud each and every one of you who deals with these challenges daily. 🙏🏼
