It’s difficult to tell anything from the photo but given how small it is, the likelihood is that it is nothing serious. Even if they do decide to remove it as a precaution, this is a very minor procedure. Nothing at all to worry about. I had one removed this summer and it was all fine x

Dodgyshoulder · 17/12/2024 17:15

How long has it been there? Try not to worry. I was referred to the skin cancer clinic for a mole under my nail that was growing and changing. It was all fine. I have a mole like that on my thigh, that was also checked and it was completely fine.

Aguinnessplease · 17/12/2024 17:17

I’d bet my house on it being absolutely fine. It’s absolutely tiny. If in doubt, take another photo in 3 months.

FionaSkates · 17/12/2024 17:31

That’s not a dangerous mole. It’s fine honestly. If that we’re dangerous I would definitely be dead by now; the number of those I have, and have never done anything about! Get off Google- it’s fuelling your anxiety xx

Staceys128 · 17/12/2024 17:59

I’ve had it a few months, I’m covered in moles all over and had a few apticyal moles removed but I’ve read that you shouldn’t get them in the side of the feet and they turn into the most dangerous melanoma, thank you for your replies, have any of you got them on the side of your feet xx

Yes, mine was on the side of my foot. It looked similar to yours but about 5 times the size. They took if off as a precaution, sent it off for testing and it came back as normal. I'd be amazed if they would do even that with something as small as yours. Honestly OP you have nothing to worry about.

FionaSkates · 17/12/2024 18:30

I’ve just checked and I have two on the side of my foot. No idea how long I have had them and not even going to get them checked. (Kindly OP, I wouldn’t even have thought this was worth going to the doctor for but I respect your decision and I understand that you are anxious.)
I think the best thing now would be probably to stop reading the internet and try and distract yourself on positive activities. I am sure you will be fine. Xx

AccidentalTourism · 17/12/2024 18:49

Be reassured, it's not really dangerous to have a mole there, there is an increased risk but that is far from really dangerous.

Maybe chat to the GP about your anxiety levels too when you see them.

Planits · 17/12/2024 19:28

Where did you read that it’s an increased risk for a mole on the side of your foot? I have a new mole there too

AccidentalTourism · 17/12/2024 19:31

The increased risk is on the bottom surface of the foot.

It's my job.

If you're concerned why not take an image and monitor it?

HighHeelsOnCobblestones · 17/12/2024 19:52

I had a mole on the tip of my toe and, like you, was really worried. It was smaller than yours - though had gotten bigger since it first appeared and was no longer symmetrical. The GP did refer to dermatology under the two week wait cancer pathway and the dermatologist did remove it and send it for testing. It was benign. You can have weird looking moles in weird locations and they turn out fine.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/12/2024 22:12

It's maybe more likely to get rubbed or sunburned because people don't tend to put suncream on their feet and the skin there is quite vulnerable.

Take a photo in good light with a millimetre ruler beside it for scale and keep regularly photographing and measuring to monitor .

Staceys128 · 18/12/2024 13:26

I’ve got the doctors tomorrow, so scared though because I know the moles is small but it’s so strange to look at it isn’t a round circle it’s all scattered

AccidentalTourism · 18/12/2024 13:26

This is your anxiety speaking OP.

RedRiverShore5 · 18/12/2024 13:30

I have had one on the side of my foot for years, it's fine, I'm 66 so not going to start worrying about it now. You sound very anxious

Stacey I have seen you have posted elsewhere as well. I really think you need some help with health anxiety. It sounds like you are really suffering badly and there is help out there. Talk to your GP xx

Juliex2202 · 03/04/2025 08:13

I recommend whole body mapping every 6months, I guess it’s the only way to control the changes and appearance of new ones
