Why do my lower legs, particularly my left, swell up horribly when I exercise

I can go for weeks without doing any exercise (I only do walking) and my legs look vaguely normal.

Now Ive started upping my steps, my lower legs swell up like those elephant legs.

Why is this?

You need to see your GP that's not healthy.

How heavy are you? Is weight putting excessive strain on knee or ankle joints?

Have you tried swimming as exercise instead, where the body's weight is supported and impact on joints is reduced?

As PP said, have you checked with a GP?

Ive told the GP! I said that my legs are always swollen when Im active, they havent even responded, they just talked about something else, twice this happened

Ive lost 10 stone and never used to have this problem. Im much more active

They go down a little bit by the morning so right now they're slightly swollen and puffy but by the end of the day again today they'll be massive

It doesn't sound good. Maybe you need to be much more gradual (do less, more often) to get your veins and circulation used to doing their jobs properly. Wear compression running socks. Then use ice packs and raising your legs after exercise, or foam roller. Bit of a faff but I would say this problem is a sign you definitely need to exercise, for future circulation health.
