Help.. private healthcare and pre existing condition

I'm currently deciding between getting private health insurance with my company through BUPA or going with my partner's company and using their health insurance with Axa.

Last week I spoke to a doctor about a swallowing issue (excessive swallowing that could be globas or acid reflux). I asked for a letter of recommendation to see a ENT specialist. However, I realised my private healthcare was not set up before asking for the referral from my doctor.

I am setting private health insurance up this week but now concerned it will not cover a ENT appointment as I already have a letter from my GP.

My actual intent for seeing an ENT specialist was not for the swallowing but to have my throat assessed for cancer, which I am worried it might be.

Is there any way around this or have I blown my chance of having this funded?

As it will now be classed as pre-existing I don’t think either will fund it.

Probably not. But it will cover anything else

It’s pre-existing. You can’t lie.

Have you checked that neither policy covers pre-existing?
