Baby smelly underarm cheese....

Hi
My gorgeous little girl of 6 months keeps getting cheesy type stuff in the folds under her arms, and it really smells.

She gets topped and tailed every morning and bathed most nights. We go swimming a lot so constantly in and out of water, showers etc.

Has anyone any idea what this is? I'm starting to think it must be a fungal infection and will be asking the HV this week but thought I'd ask you guys in the meantime!

It's not sore or red tho so am a bit stumped - no symptoms anywhere else - no nappy rash or mushrooms between her toes...lol

Any ideas much appreciated

No it's just cheese. Dcs got this, it's just matter that collects in their armpits, unless it looks red and sore under there don't worry.

It sounds quite normal, my dd gets it under her chin !. No idea what it is though !

My DD got this when she was tiny. Basically, you have to make sure it's cleaned and dried, or else the skin will get very sore. That part of the body won't get wet in the bath, for instance, because of the chubby folds. You can get a cream from GP or HV if it seems fungal or sore.
