Excema broken skin and cream with steroid

Partner's excema is bad at the moment and scratching has broken the skin.
My understanding was that the ointment with steroid in that he's supposed to use shouldn't go on broken skin.
He has excema all over his back, shoulders, arms, torso and legs .
It needs treating but how to do this and avoid all the places where the skin is bleeding?

You need fucidin for broken skin eczema. It’s got a mild antibiotic in it and will help it heal whilst dealing with the skin rash.

Thank you , something to ask the GP for I guess.
Wonder if a pharmacist would issue?

We used Aproderm for my daughters eczema. They have a range of products to use depending on the severity, so although he might not use all the range now it might be useful for him as a preventative.

As an update he's now on oral steroids , stronger steroid cream and anti biotics.
Plus a steroid lotion for his scalp.
And it's working !!
