is that really odd he says he's never had a jab for a filling....wtf?

I am a drip at the dentist, I have to admit, but it was a big back tooth one and he (dentist) knows I am a wimp

There's no way I wouldn't have one!

I hate having a numb face, though!

pigsinmud · 29/04/2008 20:55

I never had injections with one dentist, but my new one gives them without asking. I worry more about the injection than the filling!

chamaeleon · 29/04/2008 20:57

my new dentist asked me if i wanted one and i thought he was joking that you could have a filling without! i am also a wimp so i said i would try but the first hint of pain i wanted a jab, i didnt need one for an enormous filling and i wish someone had asked me years ago. jab is deffo worse than filling

Habbibu · 29/04/2008 20:57

Dinny, have you given birth?

dinny · 29/04/2008 21:00

my dentist is so good at jabs that it is really just a scratch, but I honestly thought everyone had them for fillings - you learn something new every day!

Habbibu - yes, twice. Why?

Well, because your dh can gloat all he likes about his filling, but I do believe you have the trump card. Two, in fact.

I delivered humungous dd with no pain relief (NOT my idea, I hasten to add), and I'm buggered if I'd have any dental work without a jab...

dinny · 29/04/2008 21:06

yeah, actually, was saying to the dentis am definitely not a pain wimp as have given birth twice with no pain relief, just dentist work scares the life out of me.

though dh has never had a big back-molar filling like I had replaced today, he is now saying

Is he backing down?

dinny · 29/04/2008 21:10

lol, I think so!

but he was honestly just surprised, had never thought people have injections for fillings! WEIRD

God, my dentist is lovely (fanciable)

I remember, Hatrick!

Hey, have you got our new addy for the 10th?

Psychomum5 · 29/04/2008 21:16

I need a jab half the time before the dentist even looks at me, but I am really bad and light headed at the thought, let alone setting foot thro the dentist door!!!!!

and I have given birth five times, once withut any pain relief....

altho, I felt mighty silly after when the after pains made me beg for gas n air!!!

My dentist puts a cream thing on a little piece of polysterne stuff which numbs the area before the injection for the filling - I to though it was the norm to have anaesthetic
