Large areas of bruising on thighs

For a couple of weeks now I have been getting bruising to my thighs for no reason. Will see gp tomorrow but does anyone know what it could be?

Anyone? I haven't been able to get an appointment with the gp and there is no walk in near to me 😫

Unexplained bruising is worrying, you need to get it checked, can you show it to a pharmacist? Or talk to 111 about it.

@TheSpottedZebra thanks. I managed to get a callback from the Dr who said I need a blood test so won't know anything for a good few days

Have you recently started taking antidepressants? I had this from Sertraline, it's a little known side effect. You're having bloods which is the key first step to eliminate other things. Mine were normal.

@Worridoncemore I take chlomipramine but have been on it for years

My sister had this a month or two back. It started on her knee and travelled all the way to her ankle. She was so worried.
After several tests the GP concluded that it was a side effect of her Sertraline even though she's been on it for years.
