I keep feeling like my 9 month olds lips have a blueish tinge I'm unsure whether or not it's cause for concern, I will be taking him to the drs tomorrow because my anxiety is now through the roof.

They don't look blue to me.

Are there any other symptoms?

Is he struggling to breathe? Wheezing? Are his extremities cold/blue? Is he unusually drowsy?

BoudiccasBangles · 28/11/2024 18:58

I wouldn’t have said so, but it’s hard to tell from
a photo. If you’re really worried, phone 111. Don’t leave it until tomorrow.

Hi that’s a beautiful baby with rosy pink lips
if you’re experiencing anxieties talk to your GP get some support

LostittoBostik · 28/11/2024 18:59

Slightly - but with no other symptoms I would think it's just the cold day. Do they go pink when baby is in a nice warm bath? At this age my girl's legs would go quite grey in cold weather even if wrapped up but she always pinked up quickly when warm again. She's 7 now and still gets cold easily eg when swimming

GreenFlamingo11 · 28/11/2024 19:00

There's absolutely no blue there but if there were in future you should get it seen to straight away, not wait a day.

Hayxx · 28/11/2024 19:01

He has no other symptoms I just assumed it was the cold whether but now I've read online horrible things

My DD is a red head and a blue tinge to her lips appeared when she was cold. I was worried about it and had it checked, babies are really bad at regulating temp.

Oneearringlost · 28/11/2024 19:02

No, they really, really don't look blue.

UpUpUpU · 28/11/2024 19:02

I can’t see any blue either.

My son gets blue lips when he is cold. It was terrifying when he was small but he still gets them now aged 6.

NinaNina83 · 28/11/2024 19:03

From this photo they really don't look blue.

Hayxx · 28/11/2024 19:03

If they had been obviously blue I would of had him seen straight away but because it's a tinge I've been unsure

Stay away from Dr Google it’ll just send you off the scale. Internet catastrophises everything as health emergency

Google appears to be the main reason for the growing anxiety .

No, babies lips look fine and not blue.

Mumsnet is not the place for this - if you have a medical concern then get professional medical advice. 111 is a good place to start as they can triage you to the correct place and tend to be overcautious. Or a pharmacy if they are open.
