Punch Biopsy on Skin Lesion

Has anyone had a punch biopsy on a skin lesion?

Did it hurt?
How long does it take?
Did it heal ok?
Any tips?

I'm worried as mine is on my neck.

I had one recently in a very sensitive area! It took five minutes, was cauterised with silver nitrate (no stitches). Bled on and off for a couple of days, uncomfortable to sit down for about a week, fully healed within three weeks. Much easier to keep clean and dry in the neck than where I had mine, I’d have thought 😁 I imagine you’ll be given a dressing for it.

Thanks @HerbertVonDoodlebug

Was the area numbed by injection or cream?
Did you get the biopsy results quite quickly?

I had a skin biopsy on the palm of my hand, they cut a bit out and I had 4 stitches. It stung a bit putting the local anaesthetic in but not too bad. It was a bit painful once the anaesthetic wore off, but only lasted a day or so and didn’t really bother me that much. I had the stitches in for two weeks and it healed up really well.

I hope it goes okay for you.

I had one on my scalp for a suspected BCC, it wasn't, but she didn't dress it as on the scalp, just sprayed some sealant on it. After a couple of days I was washing my hair carefully, and putting Vaseline on. Healed very well and quickly

I had an injection to numb. Results took about 3 weeks? (Benign cyst)
