Teenage son stomach issues

For the last year my 17 year old son has had digestive issues, mainly bloating and constipation. He’s had all the tests, full bloods, faecal test, allergies and intolerance testing, and all seems normal. He is aware of diet, drinking loads of water, etc. GP thinks is anxiety related, as he is neurodiverse and gets quite anxious. He is doing ALevels and has big plans for the future, which is great but also adds to the stress. He is often missing school as he comes home if he is very uncomfortable, and to use the toilet at home.

I don’t know how else to help, any ideas anyone?

Non-ige allergy is probably worthwhile looking into. They don't show on any tests. The only way you can work it out is to exclude the allergen, see if symptoms go, then reintroduce the allergen a few weeks later and see if symptoms return.

Dairy is the most likely culprit with constipation.

Hi! He excluded dairy for a couple of weeks but didn’t notice any difference… so frustrating

Did he properly remove dairy? Did you check? My child was dairy intolerant from birth, he grew out of it but it was absolutely hidden in so many products. It also thought it took about 6 wks to eliminate dairy and notice a difference. Might be worth doing some more research on this as I could be mistaken.
