Dentist is going to think I am crazy!

Saw my dentist a week ago for my check up.My 3 suspect teeth were checked with the cold gel stuff. 1st on the right side is being extracted next week. 2nd on the right has a crowning plan for early next year but the 3rd on the left a premolar with no tooth behind it, seemed fine.

This week something has happened to the 3rd. I had a hot drink and it was like a hot needle was being injected between the gum and the tooth and that shooting sensitivity hasn't gone.
That tooth has dropped and has no enamel on the back.

I have my extraction next week - he is going to think I am mad if I bring this one up 2 weeks after my check up.. I know he won't be able to do anything then but I'm worried there won't be time for him to work out a plan and I will have to wait for another appointment and he is booking into Feb and March.

The crown I need cannot be started until end of January. He is booked that far in advance.

You symptoms have changed, no one would think you're crazy for bringing it up especially when that tooth was fine before and now it isn't. You're going to need an appointment so mentioning it as soon as possible is in your best interests :)

I slowly realised dentists just wait for you to complain about symptoms/pain etc. If you don't, they assume all ok. So if you have symptoms, you're not crazy!

I have just been failed so badly by dentists in the past that I get so nervous about being told to wait it out or that they want to just do one thing at a time.

New to this dentist. He’s private and popular. When I needed a filling earlier in the year I had to wait 4 months.

He might not have time to look at it at all. He might tell me he can only do the booked extraction and to book for feb to have it checked out.

Why couldn’t it have started hurting before the damn check up.

It bloody hurts. Can’t eat on the right where the broken tooth is and can’t stand anything near this messed up falling out one on the left😢
