3 year old dd has dry scalp

Don't think this is cradle cap - or are they the same thing?! DD had cradle cap when she was a baby, this now just seems like an itchy dry scalp. I only wash her hair 2-3 times a week with Johnsons shampoo and since the itching started I started using conditioner too. Any advice on what else to do? Olive oil? - if so how often would you recommend.

Firstly I would do the bug busting thing in case the itchy dryness is due to head lice .

If def not that (you usually can't tell by just looking in the hair btw) then try a mega olive oil weekend - when you are not seeing anyone as it works best if you leave it in for a couple of nights!

I would change shampoo immediately. My ds flares up at the mearest sight of a johnsons bottle.

Loads of chemical free shampoos about. Boots do 'little me' range. waitrose have loads of organic shampoos without SLS (used in industry to wash away grease) and parabens (plastics) .

Just because something is labelled say 'simple' doesn't mean to say it is. If you can visit a health shop and buy from there if you can't get to Boots or waitrose.

Not sure how you r with money-but for my 2 girls the best products are from Neals Yard(price but worth it-they had flakes be4 but since using "healthy" shampoos much better) and when is itchy put on fingers bit of calendula oil(weleda) and just tap it on the scalp)-give it a week and promise you u will c big change...At least it help to my girls ...
