My dd's stomach looks distended...

Ever since I can remember, my dd who is coming up for 4 has had a distended looking tummy. It's ok in the morning but as she eats during the day she almost looks pregnant (it's the only way I can describe it) I've taken her to the dr and he felt her tummey and said there's no pain there so it's ok but it just doesn't seem normal. Anyone had the same experience?

too much wheat-based foods is a common symptom

My 4 year olds tummy sticks out ...don't they all? Little kids aren't supposed to have flat stomachs.

Has she any other symptoms? 3 years ago I took ds2 (then 4) to gp as he had huge bloated stomach in the evenings - very thin arms, flat bottom, awful poos, some pain. Taken off wheat and he improved dramatically. His tummy felt fine to gp, but obviously wasn't.

3 years later he is now back on wheat and being tested for coeliac - bloated tummy back.

I was also going to suggest coeliac.

It might be worth requesting a blood test.
