Hi,

One of my friends has a cat allergy - they then got a very furry cat - and she was ok with it, but still reacted to mine.

If you are allergic to cats, have you tried a breed like a Devon Rex, as they are ok for some type of allergies.

When my DP moved in he was allergic to my cat, but after a number of weeks he soon adjusted. Now when he returns from sea he has to go through it all again, he he. Love me love my cat.

my dh was allergic to cats when we met. However when I got a job at an animal shelter I brought home 2 long haired cats to encourage them to start eating. They stayed with us. He was not allergic to them unless he handled them and then touched his face. He was always allergic to my dads shorthaired cat even just being in the room with it would make him wheeze.
We have 3 cats now, one is shorthaired and they dont really affect him much.

My DP used to get really red watery eyes whenever he was around a cat but in recent years he seems to have got better after being exposed to one that has decided to come live with us - he's making up for lost time now and i'm sure I catch him cuddling it more than me!

Well sounds like I may have got rid of it. I will have to ask sophable if I can go round and have a protracted snuggling session with her cat
