Any fellow PCOS sufferers, did you find hirsutism was worse postpartum? I honestly didn’t think mine could get worse, it affects pretty much every area it can (chin, neck, arms, belly, upper legs, bikini, bum, back - I’m basically a monkey at this point) but it’s got so much thicker and the growth is so much faster. I have always had to shave everything daily to avoid it being visible, or hide it which tends to be the easier option for the body hair. Since having DS it’s got to the point where it would need to be done twice daily, and honestly I cannot go on like this. I know it probably sounds like such a superficial problem but it gets me so down. I feel so disgusting. I did have laser once for the chin hair, which worked whilst I was having the treatments done but as soon as I stopped it all came back. There’s no way I could afford to get my whole body done regularly for the rest of my life. I can’t wax it because the thought of leaving it to get long enough to wax is terrifying, particularly for the facial hair.
When I was diagnosed with PCOS the doctor basically said yeah you’ve got PCOS, now live with it because there’s nothing we can do and that was that, so they offer no help. Has anyone found any remedies that work to get rid of or at least reduce the hair? I have had an at home ipl device that did nothing, but I haven’t tried the Philips one as I was reluctant to spend so much and it not work. Has anyone else had success with this?
