To contact the gp or no need?

I had a very bad flu about 4 weeks ago..that cleared up and I felt back to myself for a week..for the past week I've had a hideous cough. Coughing every few minutes! I feel fine in myself but this bloody cough!! So irritating. I'm 22 weeks pregnant and every cough is so forceful it makes my chest and bump hurt. My throat feels tickley and 'sticky'. Had 1 bout of green phlegm come up the other day and nothing since but cough seems to be becoming more frequent!
Tried to contact the community midwife office to ask for some advice but haven't been able to get through.

Should I call the gp tomorrow morning or just deal with this?

If it’s the end of the flu with mild symptoms, as annoying as a cough can be! If there are no signs of infection there isn’t a lot they can do. Perhaps try some home remedies to soothe and reduce mucus like a steamy bath or lemon and ginger tea. Hope it clears soon!

Could be post viral irritation and might go on for a couple of weeks. If it’s distressing you I’d give the surgery a ring and ask advice.
