Urethritis, I know I'm being ridiculous. Talk sense into me?

I've self diagnosed with urethritis and have booked an appointment at my GP but it's with a male nurse practitioner, there are no women available.

I've had 3 children, smears etc and seen lots of male medical staff, why am I freaking out a bit?

On the basis that you’ve asked for sense to be spoken to you, you’ve no need to freak out!!! Male doctors, as you know, have seen hundreds of vaginas and yours will be of no consequence to them. He might not even need to look. He could diagnose on symptoms alone. Please go and be seen and get the treatment you need. They will offer a chaperone I’m sure, they do tend to if it’s the opposite sex. I had a colposcopy last year and the male that did it was gentler than the lady that did it the year before. Stop worrying!
