Fungal toenails? How does the topical medication work

Hello,
So I'm sure I've had fungal infections in my toenails for a LONG time probably at least 15 years and just ignored it 🫤 I gave my toenails permanently painted so it's not very obvious but then I remrnber when I change my nail polish 🤨 I've never been to the gp for it or mentioned to anyone
If I started using the topical treatments how long does it take to work? Will the uninfected part of the mail start to grow in? Does apple cider vinegar soaks work?
Thanks for any advice 😳

Dont bother with anything apart from the medication from GP. It takes 6 months to complete the course but worth it..

Are you sure it’s fungal and not keratin granulations? I have these after using nail polish, basically they are white ridged marks on the nails which are due to them drying out under polish.

It doesn't work. None of it. It is all a waste of your money.

You have to get the meds from the GP.

I tried everything as I was firstly pregnant, then breastfeeding, then pregnant again, bf again... so the window took about five years. I tried everything to clear up a fungal infection on my little toenail. It then started to spread to next door, very slowly. So so slowly.

Told the gp all the rubbish OTC stuff I'd tried and he gave me the tablets and weeks later, all gone and never came back.

I was actually delighted to be able to wear sandals etc and not be self conscious of my feet!
