(Sorry) Pus coming from side of thumbnail?

Ugh this is horrible! Nail has been hurting for a few days, feels a bit red and swollen. I just inspected it and when I pushed it slightly some pus came out (sorry) not much but still! Wtf?
Going to go to the pharmacy when it opens today to ask for advice. I have acrylic nails on and want them off if this is happening but I wonder is that the correct thing to do whilst an infection is in place? Anyone ever had this?

Probably Paronychia, try soaking it in warm salty water. If it doesn't clear up you may need antibiotics. I'd leave the nails on for now so you don't get anything else in the infected bit.

gross but it happens drain and wash in cooled boiled water mixed with salt.Should heal up soon enough ,if not then seek medical advice
