Is my braun thermometer thing playing up?

I have one of those shove it in your ear and press a button jobs. DS is burning up, but it is showing his temp as 36.5. He has always been fairly low temp child, but with the way he feels and looks, that is just odd.

I decided to do me, and it is showing as 35.2 . I was all efficient when we first got it and wrote me healthy temp in there which was 36.8.

Forehead strip says about 39.5 - which matches more his look and feel.

I know the actual number doesn't actually matter - he is clearly ill, given meds, but it would be handy to know if my thermometer is just screwed, or if I have a freakishly low temp myself

Anyone else's done this??

My Mothercare ear thermometer is hopeless (keep meaning to return it). It never reads higher than about 35!!! I ended up at the out of hours doc with dd because she went a sort of mottled blue colour and her hands were shaking - turns out she had a temp of 39! Was very with my thermometer at that point and bought a forehead strip!

flame......mine does this when the battery is beginning to run out, if it helps.

Saw Dr Useless last night - she was not impressed. It was just after 6 and she wanted to just do a phone consultation because he only started saying his ears "Ow" at 4.. but told me I could bring him in if I felt that I had to. What with this being Flameboy I thought checking he didn't have half a loaf of bread shoved down there or summat was a wise plan.

She at me, and said they were red ( here because on the phone she said they most likely wouldn't even look red yet), no loaves of bread.

Am trusting the forehead strip He's snuggled up with a bo'le and gradually getting cooler.

Nope. Due to them being "just a bit red". Will take him back this afternoon if he doesn't perk up.

J had bad night with belly and legs and wetting again even tho we lifted him.

B is happily playing on playhouse disney site She had oodles of warning so was fine. Ooh ooh - mum had nearly a whole tube of toothpaste She knows that when it is gone, then there will be no more and we will go out together to buy a new one All is right in her world.

Shame DrScaredOfNorks wasn't there It probably would have helped had he not had the magical doctor effect though... he stopped sobbing as we got out of the car, and bounced round the surgery.

I think DS might be asleep (very quiet in lounge, too scared to check).
