Newborn/post partum eight week appt date won’t come through until one week before?

I just wanted to check if this seems normal as my GP surgery seems somewhat haphazard.

First of all, they don’t offer the six week post partum check. Instead, they do it on the same day the baby has their eight week vaccinations. Is this normal?

Next, I’ve been trying to get them to give me a date for the eight week vaccines appointment but they simply won’t do it. Eventually they’ve said that they will post me a letter after ‘six or seven weeks’ which ‘should(!)’ contain an appointment date.

Again, is this normal? I have upcoming hospital appointments etc and don’t want there to be a clash. Why can’t they just give me a date now? Baby is 4 weeks old.

In my experience this is normal for some surgeries. Not all (mine you book yourself) but yes some.

Apparently it’s now and all in one 8 week appt post Covid to make it easier.
