Any dentists around? Weird white lump, pic included

I do have a dentist appointment this week, I'm just wondering in the mean time.
It's a little, firm, white bump on my lower gum at the front. It doesn't hurt at all and I have no problems with my front teeth as far as I'm aware (I see the dentist regularly). I noticed it last week and it's grown a small amount since then. Maybe a painless abscess? I don't remember injuring it or anything.
As anxious minds do, I naturally googled the big C already, so I'm trying to take my mind off that by finding a more likely cause!
Any ideas?

I had something similar and it turned out to be an infected front tooth (it was a crown already) so then needed a root canal on it. Not nice but not cancer!
