Wrinkled finger tips and loss of feeling/burning

I have this every now and again (two or three times a week) but only in my left hand. The finger tips get noticeably more wrinkly and I lose sensation in my finger tips and/or get a burning sensation in my finger tips which makes it difficult to do fine motor tasks. I just have to wait for it to go away in a couple of hours. Any ideas on what it is or what I could do to get rid of it? I have mentioned it to the doctor but, annoyingly, it never happens when I am at the doctors!

Is it in your little finger and the one next to it? Do you get some numbness as well? I have it in in my left hand and it's due to a trapped nerve in my elbow. I've had a nerve function test on it and it is impeded compared to my left elbow. I should wear a split at night to keep my elbow straight but it was incredibly difficult to turn over with it on and I was worried about doing more harm by wearing it.

It is in all the fingers. I actually have an elbow injury from 20 years ago in that arm so that might account for it. I had never realised!

It sounds like parasthesias which is a sign of peripheral nerve damage. Have a google of that and think if you might be doing anything that constricts the nerves in that arm
