Head injury - will dd be allowed to go to nursery tomorrow?

my dd (almost 3) fell and gashed her head earlier. She's OK but had to be glued together at A&E. Does anyone know if nursery will take her tomorrow? Not sure if it's one of those "not for 24 hours" things.

what did A&E say in terms of observation for concussion etc? If you are comfortable leaving her nursery should be comfortable taking her.

she is absolutely fine in herself. screamed for a while at first and then went with the adventure! We have to watch out for the usual head injury symptoms of course.

IME Nurseries can have very different (and sometimes strange) rules.

I have taken DD2 to my nursery with very recent head injury (30 mins before I took her in). I was happy that they would watch her for any possible signs of concussion and that she would be happy left there. They were happy to take her but made a note in their 'day book' about the incident and made sure they had contact numbers for me for the duration of her day there.

IIRC - you have to keep an eye out for concussion for more than 24hrs after the trauma anyway.

I should think your nursery will be happy to take her if you are happy to leave her there.

Thanks BBM - that sounds like the approach that her nursery usually takes. I just hope it will be the same with this. I am sure she will be OK tomorrow - she's a hardy wee soul and hates missing out on all the fun with her friends!

Hope she makes a full recovery for lots of fun with her friends tomorrow

My DD2 has a entire volume of the nursery incident book dedicated to her rough and tumble nature

I am actually amazed that this is the first head injury proper for either of the dc. For a while ds had almost daily accident reports from school!
