ds1 vomiting, high temperature, pimply rash

Ds1 is nearly 4. On Sunday he didn't want much breakfast and mid-morning he was sick. Sick 3 more times throughout the day and feverish. On Monday he came up with a rash on his chest, back and neck behind his ear, and continued with the fever. Today the rash seems a bit better but he still has a high temp. I've been giving him paracetamol and ibuprofen. He's not eaten a proper meal since Saturday evening. Anyone know what this could be, and if it's worth taking him to the GP?

have you done the glass test on the rash?

uberalice · 22/04/2008 11:19

I've prodded it with my finger and it does go white, so I think it's OK.

apparently, there is a bug going round with these symptoms.

dd2 is ill at the mo with what you describe but without the rash.

Make sure you give him plenty of fluids, even if he throws them back up again. I'll have a look in a sec and find the thread I started yesterday, there was loads of good advice on there.

If I were you I would get a doc to look at the rash, just to put my mind at rest.

Chicken Pox? Ring your GP and see what they say

here's yesterdays thread about dd2 and her temp/vomiting

Thanks Squonk, will have a look.

Burpy, he's had the pox already, so hopefully it won't be that.
