vagina skin tag or polyp?

Hi All,

I am a year postpartum.

Today, as I was showering and cleaning myself I felt something different in my vagina which I never felt before!

This might make you laugh or cringe the way I describe it but here goes.

It felt like a skinny tonsil hanging out from my vagina just as the vagina meets the perineal area. I don't know if that makes sense but hoping it does.

However, I noticed that it was also bleeding as I wiped myself after going loo aswell! Feels so weird. It was basically like the red mucus you get during period and I'm so confused as to what this is and what's going on. I know it's not period because I literally finished period a few days ago.

Anyone had anything like this?

It's almost certainly nothing to worry about, but make an appointment with your GP and get checked out. If it's a polyp, it's almost certainly benign and they are easily removed. Try not to fret.

I have an almost identical internal vaginal skin tag to what you have described. It's been there for about 25 years.
Annoying and ugly if you look up there, but for the most part I can't see it and it does me no harm.

thank you guys so much for the replies.

It's just a bit weird feeling because we went out today for a meal and when we came back and I went toilet my knickers just had blood on them like you know when you start your period and it becomes brown after a while on patches on your knickers like that. Even now after hours, same thing and I'm just so confused. And even sometimes during the day I feel like discharge is coming out of my vagina.

Following as I have the same. 13 months post partum and the same thing. Like a hanging tonsil thing is a really good description.

I was really panicking about it.. Had my appointment to get it checked and apparently totally normal, but I'm thinking of getting it removed?!

Hiya, did they say what it was? I think I have the exact same thing.. im 4 and a half months post partum and have had it for a while and it just hangs. I hate it!! It seems to hang more so when I’ve been struggling to go to the loo and have pushed for too long. It did dissapear a few weeks ago so I thought maybe I was still healing all up in there but it is back and Im not too happy about it. Did they say you can get it removed?? x
