Molloscum, any new 2008 cures you can help me with for toddler?

Hi, seen various threads on the dreaded molloscum. DS (4) has a whole colony of the things under one arm. several big ones and a few red spots that have potential to grow bigger.

I've tried treating them for a few weeks now with 100% tea tree oil, it isn't working on the big spots. The little ones are not growing bigger but not going either. There are at least 5 huge ones. I tried to pop one on Saturday, it was painful for ds and bled but still can't see if it is going. I used gloves, alcohol swabs and only did one. Can anyone tell me about a cream, potion or anything that might get rid of them or do I have to try and pop the others too? My kid really hates me.

You just have to wait till he builds up an immunity to the virus. It usually takes months, and sometimes longer I'm afraid. If they looked hot and inflamed this means they are coming to the end of their life, but as it is self-contagious, there will probably be new ones emerging to take their place.
I sympathise. My DS had his for about a year, and it looked awful, plus he hated me trying to squeeze them and I never managed to do it properly anyway. But when they did go away it was practically overnight.
Try to stop him touching them as this spreads them more I believe, and if you do want to pop them, do it after a nice hot bath as it's easier then.
I think you can get them burnt off by the doc, but don't think a 4 year old would be too happy with this scenario!
