Hi
I have posted before about my dilemma.
I have been ttc my 2nd dc for 8 months but I have been experiencing irregular periods with long cycles etc.

I was diagnosed with a underactive thyroid and this has been blamed many times by my doctor.
I am unsure about this now after previously thinking it maybe was the reason.
One thyroid check showed my tsh has been 0.2 which although was a little overstimulated at least it was not underactive.
However while my tsh was at this level it still looked as though I was heading for another long cycle as I was on cd 44 when I had that check.
All of my hormones are okay and have not showed that I could be in perimenopause.
So what could other reasons for a irregular cycle like this be.
I have been checked for polycyctic ovaries and no sign of that.

I have always had a very erratic "cycle" - conceived ds in december and hadn't had a period since august. It's never been investigated as I had no trouble conceiving but I did ask the doctor about it and she said it was fine, apparently some people are like that and although six month gaps between periods were not completely normal it was not uncommon.

Sorry not really very helpful - but you are not alone! Have you always been like this or has it just started recently? I found my periods have been much more regular since they came back after ds.

You know the frustrating thing is that I never paid much attention to my cycle before ttc.
I think I probably did have long cycles before on the odd occasion.
I really am not completely sure it was of no importance before ttc.
My latest tsh test showed it as being 19.
You see my doctor decreased my thyroxine after saying 0.2 was overstimulated.
So apparently my thyroxine must have been cut down too much which is what caused my tsh to go down again.
So now it has been upped again.
I would like my tsh to stabilise to a normal level so I can get a better picture of what happens with my cycle.
