i had my tubes tied in May 2000 during my c.section.could i get pregnant ?

don't think i am it's just that my period is later than usual.anyway, just wondered if it is still possible to get pregnant after you've been sterilized/tubes tied?

It's possible but very unlikely as far as I know.

apparently sterilisation can be slightly less effective if carried out during a C-section.

But it is unlikely.

cutekids i had a c section in sept 2000 and i ws offered sterilization which i declined (foolishly) but the ob. told me the tubes re swollen with pregnncy hormones and the tie can work loose thats why they tend to cut the tubes ??

well i'm not sure exactly what i had done.presumed they were tied as that's what i asked for but i'm sure it was a fairly new procedure at the time so maybe i had mine cut...don't actually know!

we will soon find out if you dont get your period ......would it be bad news? or are you secretly hoping? my periods are up the swanny since my 3rd c section im yet again having no periods at all despite being on the pill

I know two people who got pregnant after being sterilized. One of them had twins.

hi...i too had x 3 c.sections and my periods are very heavy. i've never had regular periods either so i doubt very much that i am pregnant. however,if it was to be, i'd secretly be quite chuffed to be honest. my 3 are 10,9 and 8 now so i suppose i'd like to have another go...although i am very overweight and i'm 40 so i'd have to be very careful.

if you have been sterilised, and you even THINK you are pregnant, PLEASE test straightaway.

if you test positive, you need to see your GP and be referred for scan IMMEDIATELY.

if a woman becomes pregnant after sterilisation she is at higher risk for ectopic pregnancy.

oh right! To be honest I feel a bit silly even thinking it but when i'm next in town i'll buy one of them 99p(?)sticks.They work don't they? As i've said, although it's possible, I don't actually think I am. Thankyou for the advice though.

cutekids sorry to be personal but were your periods regular before?mine have only been weird since last baby (3rd c section)

well...took a test and it was negative.funny how you feel though isn't it?i was disappointed and relieved at the same time. so was hubbie funnily enough.never mind.
