Does anyone know what this is or have I just pulled a muscle or something?

am 6 months pg, have funny feeling in legs as if they have got kind of detached from sockets and put back not quite right - pain in legs if I stretch them or move in the wrong way
now discomfort and sort of intense pins and needley feeling in lower back - can't sit comfortably at all
all feels very odd
have been doing sport and exercise and something - have I pulled something or what
and should I rest or keep moving?

sorry the pain is not in my actual legs but in the socket kind of thing
like where they join to body

Ouch franny sounds sore.

Could the detached sockety feeling be your ligaments loosening a bit (is it relaxin or something. The body produces a hormone to loosen the pelvic joints for the birth)

The pins and needles thing sounds like a nerve. Maybe baby is sitting on a nerve or a bit sciatica going on.

MehgaLegs · 21/04/2008 09:47

My typing is shite today - did that make any sense at all? Seem to be thinking aloud.

FrannyandZooey · 21/04/2008 09:52

maybe mega
it isn't that spd thing is it? i am scared of that

Could it be SPD?

CountessDracula · 21/04/2008 09:55

"Pain in the pubic area and groin are the most common symptoms. You may also suffer from back pain in pregnancy, Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP) or hip pain. It is common to feel a grinding or clicking in your pubic area and the pain may travel down the inside of the thighs or between your legs. The pain is usually made worse by separating your legs, walking, going up or down stairs or moving around in bed. It is often much worse at night and can stop you getting much sleep. Getting up to go to the toilet in the middle of the night can be especially painful"

Tha is spd

MehgaLegs · 21/04/2008 09:55

I had spd late on with DS2. The pain was right in the pubic bone but not my legs.

Poor you. When did it start?

FrannyandZooey · 21/04/2008 09:59

ok it isn;t in pubic bone at front
it is in the ligament feeling bits in the socket of leg, on the inside
and very very far down on lower back, mostlyin the middle and kind of spreading out across back of pelvis
with pins and needles bits going up and down legs

You could ring mw and ask though.

It sounds kind of trapped nervey. How painful would it be to get down on all fours with your bum in the air for a bit, see if wiggling the baby's position makes a difference.

FrannyandZooey · 21/04/2008 10:12

have rung physio, amd going this afternoon

am scared of that spd thing
I need to work! i hate pain

I have socket pain randomly occasionally - to the extent that I can't turn over in bed - but I have a history of trozuble (congenital dislocation, scoliosis and considerable leg-length difference). It always goes away again on its own.

It doesn't really sound like SPD (says bero the non-expert).

chin up (sorry crap thing to say really )

lullabyloo · 21/04/2008 10:39

Oh Franny,
It doesn't really sound like SPD tbh
you should see someone tho

MehgaLegs · 21/04/2008 15:46

How was the physio Franny? Any better?

lullabyloo · 21/04/2008 23:29
