If breastfeeding, how much does your weight fluctuate?

Gave birth just over 3 weeks ago and have so far lost a stone leaving just under a stone to go to get back to my normal weight. Bought some new scales but one day I was 10.9, the next day 10.7, the next 10.2 but then 10.7 again. Have I gained weight or could this be due to breast milk? Also how much weight should I expect to retain whilst breastfeeding.

you should weigh yourself on the same scales at the same time of day to get a food idea, you can gain a few number during the day, so i always weigh myself in the morning.

Some ladies lose no weight at all, some loads. I have lost 2 stones but its a mix of BF, walking the school run (totaling an hour a day) and being really unwell so couldnt eat for 3 weeks.
Hioe that helps a little. If your worried about the weight, eat well and doing loads of walking with the pram, good luck

Are your scales on a totally flat uncarpeted bit of floor, in the same place each day? Is the humidity the same in the room each time you weigh (affects scales massively)?

With any weight loss programme women are advised not to weigh more than once a week, as weight can fluctuate quite a bit day to day, in part down to varying degrees of water retention.

I very much doubt that you are 'storing' 5lbs of breast milk more one day than the previous one.
