Spots round mouth caused by dummy use ? How have you treated it ?

My 2.4 yr old dd only has her dummy for her 1 nap in the day and at bedtime. Despite this she has small red spots round her mouth..

The Dr gave us Timodine (?) - it is yellow, a bit like Metanium nappy cream. We have been applying it every night but if the spots do go, they're back within a day..

Has anyone else had this and if so what got rid of them ?

Taking the dummy away completely isn't an option for us as we have another on the way in 2 weeks !

My daughter sucks her thumb and has the same tiny spots. I think its difficult to combat as they like to be chewing and dribbling over toys etc! I'm sure they will both grow out of it shortly. Imagine the summer will help dry it all up too! Hope this helps!

Thanks MJD. I hope the Summer does help. She has recently started having to wear an eye patch, so that and the spots does not a good look make !! I believe we are in for a similar Summer to last year !!
