Last night when she was going to bed I noticed a raised spot on the back of her hand

this morning she has two just under her chin to the side
two on her upper thigh
and one coming next to her belly button

they are red, raised, quite a size(compered to pinprick sized type things) and one of the ones on the top of her thigh has a middle IYKWIM

she had chicken pox when she was 7 weeks old but so mildly (caught from dd2) that I was told she may get them again

she had her MMR on thursday

she has been uber snotty for five or six days with accompanying 'snotty' eyes for the last couple of days

it could just be from the virus she's had. Viruses often cause rashes in children.

Or of course chicken pox again...

Are they bothering her?

TrinityTheProgressingRhino · 20/04/2008 09:36

she doesn't seem to have noticed them at all

she is VERY VERY snotty, poor wee thing

the nurse said that it would be about 10 days after that she may get a rash like the measles rash

and its only been 3 ish days
and I dont thuiknk it looks lke a measles rash, they are bigger than that

redadmiral · 20/04/2008 09:43

Think the measles rash from mmr is flat and blotchy looking. HTH

TrinityTheProgressingRhino · 20/04/2008 09:50

thanks red, it doesn't look blotchy and they aren't flat

Could be chicken poxs again.

TrinityTheProgressingRhino · 20/04/2008 09:53

hmmm scooby
thats what I was thinking
but dont they come out all at once really quickly usually

and do I need to do anything

shit I have such a bad memory about what I did with the other two

Do I need to take her to the docs for chicken pox, I would think no

but what if it isn't, what could it be

arrrgh I hate being a panicky person

tell me to stop googling spots and rashes and stuff

OP posts:
LIZS · 20/04/2008 10:06

dd reacted similarly within a day or two of her mmr.

redadmiral · 20/04/2008 10:06

My two have had unidentified rashes that look quite severe. Doctors usually say it's a virus, but keep them away from vulnerable people just in case. I wouldn't worry if they are not majorly ill, and of course, check with the glass occasionally to make sure they aren't something more sinister. I wouldn't worry personally. x

TrinityTheProgressingRhino · 20/04/2008 10:07

thanks lizs and red
right I'm going to stop worrying...ish

off out to get stuff for lunch

snotty eyes often come with chicken pox, btw - viral conjunctivitis, I think

Psychomum5 · 20/04/2008 10:42

chicken pox in my experience, always starts with one spot the day or so before the rest....and then they do start of slowly beofre the rush comes on about day 2/3.

snotyness and redish gunky eyes....also chicken pox related in mine.

Purplepillow · 20/04/2008 10:47

I agree psychomum5, think gecko may have chicken pox again

Msn me when you get back in TR and mummypurple will come down and give gecko loads of hugs( and you as well of course)

TrinityTheProgressingRhino · 20/04/2008 11:17
