Very dark bruise on inside of knee

Suddenly a very dark bruise has come up on the inside of my right knee joint. It is right on the inside where the knee bends - around 2cm circle

Any ideas what it could be?

I guess you'd have noticed if you'd banged it?!

Do you sleep on your side with legs together? Are you underweight/boney? If so there's a chance it could be pressure damage.

I can't remember a bang. I'm not underweight either.

I am diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome so it could be a dislocation that reolved itself. My joints have been a bit more clicky/wobbly in recent weeks. Perhaps there is a small ligament or muscle tear.

Really throbbed and burned all night.
