Wet / sticky eyes every morning

I always wake up with really wet eyes often with a bit of gloop sticking to the bottom of my eyes and bottom eyelashes and in the corners of my eyes. What could this be? It tends to be worse in Summer months and I can't recall getting it in the colder months so I am thinking it might be some sort of allergy.

Mild infection? I used to get this and the optician advised me to clean my eyes with a tiny dab of baby shampoo on a damp cotton pad - gently wipe over the eye using a fresh pad each time until clean, and repeat before bed.

It’s also now my default method to remove mascara!

I have it too, got RSV and had hay fever. Could be conjunctivitis though, wipe with cotton wool soaked in cooled salted boiled water.

I frequently get this too. It's usually connected with my hayfever or if I'm suffering with a bad cold as my eyes seem to be affected when my sinuses are infected. I don't think it's anything too serious it's more annoying than anything else for me.
