Strange pain and pins and needles

In the middle of a lesson and I got a sudden awful cramping like pain in my back on the left side, sort of the back of the waist. I was so bad it made me feel sick.

My eyesight went funny and blurry and then my tongue felt cold and tingly. I then had very obviously pins and needles in my hands.

It all subsided after about 20
minutes, but has left me feeling pretty scared. I have no pre-existing conditions and I’m not on any medication.

Has anyone experienced anything similar?
Thank you.

That can literally be a million things physical or psychological if it happens again go to drs and and they will do some bloods but I wouldn't worry it's quite common symptoms that most people have at some point

Thank you. It progressed to a stabbing pain in and above my right eye, so I’m wondering if it is a migraine.

Could be, although general migraines often last for days at a time their are specific ones like retinal migraine which are short lived. I think a general check up at the gp wouldn't hurt as they can hopefully figure out whether it's stress/anxiety based or whether something shows up in bloods anemia/ thyroid/b12 etc etc which would be a lot easier fix. Sometimes bodies are just weird and do these things and then they never happen again. I think its just a case of watching and waiting and trying not to worry it's unlikely to be anything serious

It could be a trapped nerve, but you should go and get checked out really just in case

I ended up with a dreadful headache. Stabbing pains in right eye and above the eye. Felt really sick. Went to sleep.
Just got up and it’s eased off. I just feel exhausted now and a little low. Dull headache left over.

I will get checked out at the doctors, but I’m convinced I experience aura. I do get them before a migraine but usually only lose a spot in my vision. Could be peri menopause.

Thanks all and I’ll book an appointment.

Thanks. I have been prescribed Sumitriptan, but it doesn’t seem to be working.

The headache eased off last night for a few hours, but I’ve woken with it this morning again.

Do you mind if I ask what you were prescribed so I can ask about it? Thank you ☺️

Firstly pizotifen then topiramate

sounds like a migraine. Try a different Triptan until you find one that works.
