Can anyone tell me what sleeping sickness is?

I googled and it was about insect bites from abroad but the person who said she has sleeping sickness has not been anywhere abroad for a long time. She's in her 90s and not well with other things as well.

Yes it’s a sickness you can develop from being bitten by tsetse flies so I’m guessing that the person is using the name to just refer to any illness that makes them sleepy? Narcolepsy maybe?
