Has anyone used one of those electronic things for toning your abs?

I have crappy tummy muscles and would like to tone them up a bit but I'm rubbish at doing sit ups, whenever I try my muscles part again (they got separated when pg with DD2) and I get back ache so I thought this might be a good way?

I'm size 8/10 but have a 31" waist and it needs pulling in a bit!

Pilates is likely to be more effective, and better for your back.

MoosMa · 18/04/2008 14:12

Are they really that good? I always got the impression they were more for keeping you bendy?

No no, pilates is all about core strength, which is abs and back, particularly lower back (which is where most women have pain). I like the Lynn Robinson DVDs.

That sounds interesting (and considerably cheaper), how long do you do them for and how often?

i bought one years ago for 30 in ebay

ended up with a six pack - they work great but you do need to useit

Miggsie · 18/04/2008 14:57

I used one, they are a complete faff.
I ended up doing yoga and pilates DVDs rather than use the damn thing.

Hi Moosma [waves] I have an out of proportion waist and my muscles are a bit weak. I hate doing sit ups also gives me backache.

What machine did you buy butterfly?

ButterflyMcQueen · 18/04/2008 15:01

called slendertone start

i did not find it a faff it did work for me

MoosMa · 18/04/2008 15:57

Hello Stary!

The trouble with doing DVDs is I know I'll just never get round to doing them. These machines do look tempting as I could have it on while doing seomething else.
