Yer whaaaat? [gormless emoticon]

Never been asked for my shoe size when pg. Or maybe they just look at my massive feet and draw their own conclusions.

yes my midwife asked and when I said I was a size 8 she said that I would 'pop them out no problem'

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 18/04/2008 10:27

do they provide free well-fitting slippers?

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 18/04/2008 10:27

have heard of shoe size relating to penis size, but never to fanjo size

schneebly · 18/04/2008 10:29

I heard that there was a direct correlation to shoe size and width of pelvis but it is probably a load of bullcrap!

to answer your question seriously... no

PortAndLemon · 18/04/2008 10:34

Midwife definitely asked first time round, but unofficially IYSWIM. I have a vague feeling that second time round it may have been one of the booking-in questions, but not sure.

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 18/04/2008 10:41

I went up a shoe size when pg with dd2 and they never shrunk again.

Does that mean that my fanjo...

....... grew accordingly?

brightwell · 18/04/2008 12:21

I think there's some idea that if your feet are under size 4 you've got a small pelvis & childbirth could be tricky! A friend of mine who is a size 3 in shoes & size 6 in clothes had an almost 11lb baby boy naturally & didn't need stitches.

whomovedmychocolate · 18/04/2008 12:23

Maybe it's so they can identify who booted the consultant in the face during any internals

Or they plan to steal your shoes while you labour.

brightwell · 18/04/2008 12:23

AND did you know your fore arm is the same length as your foot. How many of you are checking that one out!

Psychomum5 · 18/04/2008 12:26

i was!

IIRC i was also toldthat any woman with less than sz 4 feet would be monitored more carefully as they had a higher chance of needing a cs thro pelvis being too small for childbirth!!!

whomovedmychocolate · 18/04/2008 12:26

No it isn't. It definitely isn't. Unless my forearms grow several inches during pregnancy

when i first saw this i thought how daft.
but thinking about it.,....your feet are all bone aren't they, so it makes sense that if they are large the rest of your bone structure would be large.

I mean you dont get many 6footers with size 2 feet, nor do you get any petite women with size 8's.

though i suspect it only means the size of your pevis rather than fanjo.

doesn't it? [worried lady with size 9 feet here]
