Diarrhoea and pelvic pain?

I was on antibiotics last week and have started with diarrhoea for the last 5 days. Contacted my GP and done a stool sample but won’t have the results until after the weekend (done in case it is c-diff from antibiotics - bloody hope not!)

I also have stomach pain, no appetite. I am passing mucous later in the day and liquid diarrhoea in the mornings. I am forcing myself to eat little and often (boiled eggs, bananas, toast, peanut butter, pasta, rice) and sticking to water only.

my period started yesterday (yay) and last night I got a pain where my left ovary would be that felt like a cramp. It wasn’t period pain, I know how that feels. It hasn’t gone overnight. I’ve passed gas, I’ve had 3 lots of diarrhoea. It is tender to the touch. It’s not a severe pain, I can do my usual activities so I’m not about to hot foot it to the doctors after only speaking to them yesterday, but it’s likely to be period / bowel related, right? And nothing serious?

I have health anxiety, yes I am in treatment. The weekend quickly approaching makes me more anxious as accessing health care is more difficult. My mind wanders to ovarian cancer, bowel obstruction and all the serious stuff.

The ovarian type pain is likely related to your period
I’ve had that type of pain myself over the years during ovulation as well as during periods. I’d usually take paracetamol and forget about it . Just carry on living your life and it will likely go away.If it persists once your periods finished and you’re still worried, see a doctor.

With a bowel obstruction, you won’t pass wind, You’d be vomiting undigested foodstuffs and /or green stuff and you wouldn’t be able to do a poo. You are having diarrhoea and managing to keep food down so your bowel isn’t blocked. You’d also have a tender, bloated abdomen full of gas.

Have you tried eating some live yogurt/ kefir to introduce good bacteria back ?

Easy for me to say, but try to stop thinking about it. Wait for results. Hopefully by the time they come back you’ll be back to normal.

@Bigcatpaws thank you. You know sometimes you just need someone reasonable to tell you the most likely scenario?

I haven’t felt like yoghurt (I don’t like it really at the best of times) but i have got some organic Greek style yoghurt to try a bit of later and see how I tolerate it. I agree I definitely need some good bacteria in there which is why I’m trying to eat good food when I do eat but I can’t tell you how much I just want to wake up cured 😫
