Anyone got this awful flu and can't shake it off?

looking for some sympathy really - have had the dreaded flu since Sunday and can't seem to shake it off, still feverish and got a cough an old man would be proud of.

DS1 has had it too but seems to be on the mend.

anyone else had it? When, oh when, does it end?

i can sympathise, i've been ill for 3 weeks now, it started with tonsillitis, which went with ab's, but then came back and i now have a stinking cold which just won't go. it's one of those drippy nose ones where you feel on the verge of a sneeze constantly.

i've been adopting this get better regime, lemsip, rest, chocolate, lemsip, rest, chocolate

hope you feel better soon

I can sympathise. Lots of folk at work have had this - including me and I never usually get anything. No-one has found it easy to shake off. It lasted a fortnight for me, with symptoms starting afresh when I thought they should be waning.

Am clear now, nearly, apart from a catch in my breath which makes me cough. Was voiceless/hoarse for the whole time.

Agree choc/rest/read books/lemsip/more choc the best remedy.

Hope you feel better soon.

Yes, have no voice whatsoever and am reduced to whispering to DS1, which he thinks is rather bizarre....

thank you for sympathy and good wishes - I've moved on from Lemsip to cough medicine, ibuprofen, and chocolate. Although this bug also seems to have cut my appetite, which is a bit weird.

reassuring to hear that I'm not the only one having trouble shaking it off though.

good night!

oh yes. DP has it. But it is much worse than yours. much worse. apparently.

My sympathy for him is running on empty, in case you were wondering.

Where are you all so I know if I have to stay home and avoid people at all costs to avoid getting it???

Sorry for the sour grapes.

I hope you feel better soon!
