dd is gumming down on everything n sight and for last 3 nights has woken upscreaming, most unlike her, only rubbing her gums will console her and so i gave her calpol. HV thinks since she only took calpol once in the night she is just being 'a pickle after attention'?? Anyway my q is should I keep giving calpol? Will it be bad for her tummy if I give it for too many days in a row? Would teething gel be better? And on a completely different note what is the point of HV? I was also advised to go ahead and wean early when I asked a few weeks ago and now reading Kellymom I'm really annoyed at bad advice

i have 3 children and imo health visitors are only use to mums in the first couple of months after you have had a baby. can you tell mine was crap!
my ds aged 2 had a hard time cutting his 1st tooth waking up in the night ,very clingy and dribble on every thing (had to change his clothes 3 times a day)
i would say give calpol for a few days at regular intervals plus some teething gel.
you could also try teething powders which are herbal ,they did help my ds.
once my ds got his 1st tooth the others came without too much fuss.
