I missed a couple of days of my anti depressants and there is also a virus going around that is making people tired so i think it may be a combination of the two. Dd is at her dads and it is the school holiday so i am at home on my own. For three days now i have felt so exhausted it has been a real challenge to stay awake. My limbs feel so heavy and ache. I just want to stay in bed or on the sofa. Am even becoming agrophobic, dp made me go out last night and i felt much better for a few hours.

Dp is trying to be patient but we have so much to do as we are putting our house on the market. I am doing nothing to help. On monday i was fine i was up at six, did loads of housework took my mum out for lunch and dp commented that it was the happiest and most energised he had ever seen me. For three days now i have had to cancel plans as i have been too tired. As dd is away i know dp was looking forward to having couple time and this was not what he had in mind.

Right i am going to stop talking to myself on here and do something. Starting with making myself something to eat and tidying the kitchen. I may be a while...

Not to be a scaremonger but have you checked your carbon monoxide in the house?

Make yourself go for a short walk everyday. It really helps.

twinsetandpearls · 17/04/2008 16:32

I have mentioned this to dp before as this happens every now and again, but he said that if there was a carbon monoxide issue we would all be ill and it was just me. Dp has not had the virus I mentioned before, just me, dd , my mum and a neighbour.

Missing your anti-depressants won't help. You must make sure you take them every day - it will make you feel really shitty if you don't.

It might also be worth seeing the GP and asking for a thyroid function test - underactive thyroid can make you feel permanently exhausted.

muppetgirl · 17/04/2008 16:36

You can get a carbon monoxide indicator to measure your -emissions (is that the word?)
Hang it off the boiler.

twinsetandpearls · 17/04/2008 16:37

The Gp has done blood tests and found nothing wrong other than low iron levels. I am sure it is my fault for missing my medication.

WigWamBam · 17/04/2008 16:41

Are you taking anything for your low iron levels? That won't help either - will make you tired, lethargic and achey.

barnstaple · 17/04/2008 16:43

If it were carbon monoxide you would almost certainly have an awful headache, and you would all be falling asleep I think. Happened to us in two separate places; we were lucky!

To be honest, it sounds to me like you overdid things on Monday and due to the lack of medication etc it's caught up with you. Fresh air and a walk will help, pigleto is right.

saltire · 17/04/2008 16:45

I don't think missing your ADs would make you tired. I missed some of mine a few weeks ago, because the practice wouldn't take a repeat over the phone, so I had to summon up the strength to walk round, so missed them for a day or two, all it did was make me feel sick!.
If you have low iron levels then could it be aneamia?(sp) that's causing the tiredness. the limb pain could just be a virus.
I know how you feel though, the chronic fatigue I get with my FMS is sometimes unbearable - if I sit down somedays I start yawning!

twinsetandpearls · 17/04/2008 16:50

My iron levels are low again, dp commented yesterday that I am almost grey.

The doctor spoke to me about iron tablets but he said that as I was only just under the levels I would be better just improving my diet. I have been eating crap lately which always leaves me feeling rubbish, dp us buying me steak and spinach for my tea!

I became very tired when I started my AD, feeling much as I do now so it may be that.

spatone is really good for iron

WigWamBam · 17/04/2008 16:52

It won't hurt to take an iron supplement, even if you do improve your diet - sounds to me as if you need it, tbh.

twinsetandpearls · 17/04/2008 17:00

Do I need to go back to the doctor for an iron supplement or can I get one over the counter.

OP posts:
saltire · 17/04/2008 17:00

spatone is good, or any Iron supplement. Ask at Boots

twinsetandpearls · 17/04/2008 17:01

Will do that tomorrow. I am popping into work in the morning to tidy my classroom and get some admin done so will go into town afterwards.
