Otosclerosis diagnosis

Hi, I've had hearing loss and trouble with my ears for the last 2 years and finally got a diagnosis of otosclerosis today. I'm 39 with moderate loss on one side and mild loss on the other. It's quite overwhelming at the moment and lots to take in, in terms of my hearing getting worse over time, needing hearing aids and considering the surgery option. I'd be grateful if anyone else with this diagnosis could share their experience - it all feels quite scary at the moment.

Thank you

I am in a similar situation- had the diagnosis yesterday and feel completely overwhelmed. Sorry I can’t add anything useful to a three month old thread, just wantedto say that you are not alone. I’m being referred for hearing aids but have no idea how long it will take, and am a bit stunned because I assumed that I had a problem with my eustacean tubes and a course of drugs would cure it.

Do you have tinnitus? Hope you found support.
