Slipped disc recovery - how long did yours take?

I have a slipped disc, started out last Saturday and got very bad over the following few days. Been to hospital as the pain was unmanageable, they said I have a trapped nerve and herniated disc.
Ive been resting for a few days and doing a tiny bit of walking around. The pain is bad but much more bearable.
i have lots of weekend events coming up, so just wondering how long til I can comfortably walk and sit down?
how long did yours take?
thanks

I had this, happened on nye. The pain was worse than childbirth. I wasn't even doing anything, just put my pajama pants on. BOOM!!! I couldn't even sit on the toilet, was that bad, had to wee in a container. I was off work for 6 weeks. Could start doing things for myself after about 10 days ie. Shower, dressed unaided, went to bed as i slept on couch recliner for a while. . Baby steps though, couldn't cook a meal or anything big like that. I took lots of naproxen. I hope you're feeling better soon. X

Thank you ! Yes same - five days in and I can just sit on the loo, and walk a few steps. The pain was definitely worse than childbirth.
sounds like a flight and weekend away in three weeks is too ambitious then…

How did you do it??? Are you taking any pain killers? Physio? My physio was bit useless to be honest sent me to exercise classes which weren't any good just aggravated it even more. Fobbed me off big time. Not sure about the holiday though. Healing is different for many people. Wouldn't like to say cancel but also wouldn't like you to go and be in pain and regret going. 💐

Thank you
like you, no obvious cause, woke up with a bit of a twinge and it rapidly got worse from there.
taking naproxen, pre gabalin, and a bit of morphine at night to sleep. It doing any exercises specifically yet, just a few steps every couple of hours.
its almost impossible to sit down, on a chair, so worried about the flight…
