Antibacterial washing up in eye (photo)

Well I'm a bit stupid and washed my hands and didn't rinse them properly, proceeded to rub my eye and got it all in my eye!

The stinging is immense and my eye is completely red - I've rinsed with water a lot.

Has this happened to anyone else? I'm so shocked as this is washing up liquid - perhaps the antibacterial did it?!

Any advice? Do I just keep rinsing it? The advice on the back says to and then if need to seek medical advice to take the bottle but when do I do that? Seems a bit dramatic for washing up liquid!

I wouldn’t seek medical attention just yet. Keep rinsing with plain water and give it 24 hours, then see where you are at. Eyes are very good at being self cleaning.

Saline solution.

Chemists or large supermarkets should stock it.

I would bathe it with a cotton wool pad and cool boiled water every couple of hours and see if it's improved tomorrow morning x
