Low b12 & major health anxiety !

Hello everyone & thank you for taking time to read this.

I recently had blood work taken which has come back showing I have low b12 and folate - I am unsure how low it is tbh as my results and instruction were given to me by the surgery receptionist. I have been given 50mcg of Cyanocobalamin to be taking twice daily along with folic acid and a folate tablet.

I suffer badly with health anxiety and after extensive googling have completely freaked myself out which has ultimately lead to me writing this post.

I must say the reason I got my bloods taken was due to me thinking my hair had become a bit thinner. At the time I didn’t think I had any other symptoms but now reading about b12 has made me think that my ‘brain fog’ might be something related. Which has added to my anxiety as the horror stories I have read about neurological issues with low b12.

I guess I’m just wondering if anyone has any experience of this and if it was easily treated ? Or if anyone knows more about the seriousness/ how common a low b12 level is ? I am 33.

many thanks

I have pernicious anemia and take b12 injections; no neurological implications and it was diagnosed quite late (over 40).
Take the tablets, keep to the GP appointments and for the love of god step away from Google! (This is said with love as health anxiety sucks, but try to put it to one side)
